Clean Advantage Annual Certificate
We issue an annual certificate for every member of the Clean Advantage Program at the beginning of each year. If you don't receive it automatically during the first quarter of the year, ask your customer service for it or contact us directly. Your certificate includes the total CO2e emissions offset over the past year. Promote the impact your company is making by featuring the certificate on your website or display it in your office. Clean Advantage Program
The Clean Advantage program is a turnkey sustainability program that automatically offsets your fleet’s tailpipe emissions on every litre of fuel purchased. It’s an affordable way to make your business more sustainable with annual certificates that promote your impact.
You simply use your fuel card and your vehicle’s emissions are automatically offset. Based on the number of liters pumped, we calculate and offset your emissions through investments in certified carbon offset projects. Visit our How it Works page to learn more.
The Clean Advantage program has offset over 2.5 million metric tons of carbon to date by investing in certified carbon projects, which is equivalent to the emissions from 540,109 passenger vehicles driven for one year.
Clean Advantage customers support the offset of roughly 1.3 kilograms of carbon per litre pumped. Assuming the average customer pumps around 5,000 litres per year, that would result in the offset of about 6,500 kilograms of carbon, which is equivalent to avoiding the emissions from 3,248 kilograms of coal burned.
With 40 years of industry leadership, PDI Technologies, Inc. resides at the intersection of productivity and sales growth, delivering powerful solutions that serve as the backbone of the convenience retail and petroleum wholesale ecosystem. By “Connecting Convenience” across the globe, we empower businesses to increase productivity, make informed decisions, and engage faster with their customers. When it comes to promoting social responsibility and addressing customers’ climate concerns, PDI Technologies offers turnkey sustainability solutions and patent-protected programmes that deliver environmental impact and bottom-line results.
PDI calculates your carbon emissions by the type and volume of fuel you purchase, not by the type of vehicle. This allows us to accurately calculate the emissions your vehicles produce, regardless of what vehicles they are. It doesn't matter if you drive very efficient vehicles or more conventional vehicles - we calculate the emissions produced by the volume of fuel purchased.
We don’t offset a percentage of your litres pumped. Instead, we calculate the carbon emissions from the total litres pumped and offset a percentage of those emissions.
Carbon Offset 101
A certified carbon offset is a certificate representing the reduction, destruction or capture of one metric ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Certified carbon offsets are produced by certified carbon offset projects. These projects must follow strict guidelines established by internationally recognized standards in order to generate certified carbon offsets.
A certified carbon offset project is a project specifically designed to reduce, capture or destroy greenhouse gases that would otherwise be emitted into the atmosphere. An example is a methane gas capture project at a landfill.
We do our best to invest in projects in your country. Sometimes, however, project availability is limited. When there are no carbon projects in a certain area, we partner with local non-profit organizations on community projects to make a local impact.
No, the location of a carbon project does not matter. A metric ton of carbon offset in Europe has the same impact on the environment as a metric ton of carbon offset across the world.
PDI's entire end to end carbon offset process is validated and attested to by an international big 4 accounting firm. Carbon emissions are calculated using carbon coefficients coming from the EIA, EPA, and Argonne National Laboratory. These carbon emissions are offset through investments in certified carbon offset projects, which adhere to various standards and protocols that are verified by independent third parties including VERRA, Climate Action Reserve, Gold Standard, and American Carbon Registry.
Carbon credits not only offset current carbon emissions -- they are also an investment in global projects that advance sustainability technology, ensuring a cleaner environment for the future. Carbon projects also provide jobs to support local economies and communities.
Carbon offsetting is an important part of the solution. It is a meaningful step companies can take in their journey towards a zero emissions future.
